Liam Rosenior is a doubt for Hull's New Year's Day match against Everton with an Achilles problem. Fellow defender James Chester is available again after suspension for the visit of Roberto Martinez's men.
But midfielder Mohamed Diame (knee) and centre-back Michael Dawson (hamstring) are still out.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez will keep a close eye on the progress of James McCarthy in training ahead of their trip to the KC Stadium.
The midfielder was withdrawn after 60 minutes in the 3-2 loss against Newcastle as a precaution, and according to his manager is still not ready to play a full 90 minutes.
Martinez has also confirmed that goalkeeper Tim Howard faces up to six weeks out with a calf injury sustained against Stoke, while both John Stones and captain Phil Jagielka remain sidelined with ankle injuries.

Match notes
A game where both sides hope to see the form book go out of the window. If Everton, with one win in their last seven matches, think they are struggling, they are positively in the midst of a purple patch in comparison to their hosts, who after the damaging defeat at home to Leicester City have a single victory in 12 games. It promises to be tense at the KC Stadium.
Referee: Kevin Friend: 12 Y51 R1.
Betting: Home 11-5, Away 13-10, Draw 11-5.
Stat of the game: Romelu Lukaku has scored in two of his three meetings with Hull as an Everton player.
Jason Mellor's prediction: Hull City 1 Everton 1
