Both players were involved in off-the-ball incidents during the 3-1 defeat to Hibernian in Monday’s Scottish Championship game at Ibrox.
They have each been offered two-match bans after being accused of "violent conduct".
Defender Mohsni, who appeared to argue with his own supporters as he headed down the tunnel at half-time, has been cited after he appeared to swing an arm at Hibs centre-back Liam Fontaine.
The Tunisian lashed out after Fontaine knocked the ball out of his hands as he raced back to the halfway line following Nicky Law's consolation goal for the hosts after 55 minutes.
Striker Boyd then went head-to-head with visiting defender Jordan Foster after a clash in the Hibs penalty area.
Both have been given until Thursday to accept their bans or face a principal hearing on October 9.
McGlennan is in his first week as the SFA's new disciplinary chief after replacing Vincent Lunny.
