19 December 2014 Last updated at 16:25 An improvised explosive device (IED) has been found in a public park in Cork city.The Irish army's bomb disposal team was called to the park in the Boreenmanna area of the city at 12:40 local time, after a report of a suspicious object.
A spokesperson for the Irish Defence Forces said the device was viable but was "made safe at the scene without the need for a controlled explosion".
The park was declared safe at 13:00 local time.
